Who trains at Fletc Artesia?
FLETC Artesia is home to the United States Border Patrol (USBP) and Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement Academies as well as a TSA Training Center which trains private pilots from across the industry to become certified as Federal Flight Deck Officers and a portion of the basic training for Federal Air Marshals.
How long is Border Patrol Academy Artesia NM?
All new border patrol agents receive training at the CBP Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico. The training program, which is 58 days long, includes instruction in integrated law, physical training, firearms instruction, and driving.
Can you leave FLETC?
FLETC began planning for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic as early as February 2020. Students are always free to leave the FLETC grounds but are subject to FLETC’s established policies for readmittance.
Can family visit Border Patrol Academy?
We respectfully discourage trainees from bringing family or automobiles to training. As stated above, Border Patrol training is rigorous. We recommend that you rent a car on weekends if you would like to tour the area. You have been selected to participate in a brief survey about your experience today with CBP.gov.
What can I bring to Fletc?
Students are encouraged to bring their issued semiautomatic pistol, issued leather gear (standard and concealed-duty carry) and a minimum of 3 magazines; ammunition will be provided. FLETC uniforms will be provided; however, personal black or dark blue BDUs are allowed.
