Where is the new Mordialloc Freeway?
Melbourne’s newest freeway is now bringing you a safer and more reliable journey in time for summer. The 9km long Mordialloc Freeway connects the Mornington Peninsula Freeway in Aspendale Gardens to the Dingley Bypass in Dingley Village, improving connectivity in Melbourne’s southeast.
Is the new Mordialloc Freeway open?
We commenced construction in October 2019 and opened the new Freeway on Sunday 21 November 2021.
Is the Mornington Peninsula Freeway going to be extended?
Extensions of the Mornington Peninsula Freeway have been developed for the southern end to support growing traffic demand. Traffic demand is expected to increase by nearly 10 per cent along the Mornington Peninsula Freeway between 2021 and 2031.
Is the Dingley Bypass open?
Construction of the Dingley Bypass began in 2014 and was completed in March 2016, 5 months ahead of schedule. The $156 Million, 6.4 kilometre Dingley Bypass was completed five months ahead of schedule and was opened on 11 March 2016 by Minister for Roads, Luke Donnellan.
How much time will the Mordialloc Freeway save?
The Mordialloc Freeway will save motorists more than seven minutes in the morning peak and 10 minutes in the evening between Dingley Bypass and Springvale Road.

Are there tolls on the Monash Freeway?
Travellers should note that the Monash Freeway has a toll system as part of EastLink which connects the Eastern, Monash, Frankston and Peninsula Link freeways. If travelling out of the city on the Monash Freeway, travellers are required to purchase a toll pass. Each trip pass costs $5.94 for a car.
Are there tolls on Peninsula Link?
Is Peninsula Link a toll road? No. Peninsula Link is delivered toll free as an Availability Public Private Partnership (PPP). Under this model, Southern Way will finance, build, design, operate and maintain the freeway for 25 years.
Who owns Peninsula Link?
Southern Way has the contract to operate the Peninsula Link for the 25 year concession. Southern Way harnesses the strengths of Lend Lease to design, construct, operate and maintain Peninsula Link.
