Colectivo roasts its coffee and makes all its food products in Milwaukee and is known nationwide as a wholesale coffee supplier. Alterra Coffee had supplied roasted coffee to its own chain of cafes in the Milwaukee area since 1993, and offices worldwide through the Flavia Single-Serve brewing system since 2010.

Why did Alterra change name to Colectivo?
The new name – pronounced “Co-lec-TEE-vo” – is inspired by the colorful buses used for public transportation in Latin America. The name change marks the end of a three-year relationship with Mars Drinks, a subsidiary of Mars, Inc. It’s also the start of a new chapter for the local company.
