When should I use a red eye shad to bass fish?
When bass are actively feeding, it’s hard to beat a fast, erratic retrieve to trigger strikes. One of our favorite straight retrieves is fishing the Red Eye Shad through weeds. You want to reel it just fast enough that it doesn’t sink into and bog down in the weeds, just ticking the tops.
