GIB® Standard plasterboard is an economical lining material available in 10mm and 13mm thicknesses.
How do you cut GIB Aqualine?
16.2 GIB Aqualine® is easily cut by scoring the face paper with a sharp short-bladed trimming knife, and then snapping the plasterboard away from the cut face and cutting the back paper or by sawing. Use of a metal straightedge facilitates clean straight cuts. Cut edges can be tidied up by using a knife.
Can Aqualine be used as Braceline?
GIB Aqualine® can be used in place of GIB Braceline® in GIB® bracing elements 900mm or longer, provided the perimeter of the element is fixed with GIB Braceline® Nails or GIB Braceline® screws at 100mm centres, using the GIB Braceline® corner fixing pattern.
Can GIB Aqualine wet?
Because GIB Aqualine® is dimensionally stable and resistant to water damage, it is an ideal substrate for tiling in residential wet areas. Liquid applied water proof membranes and tile adhesives readily adhere to the GIB Aqualine® face liner and GIB® jointing compounds.

Stacks of GIB® plasterboard should be limited to stacks of 20 sheets on non-concrete floors to minimise the risk of structural damage due to point loading.
What is Gib board used for?
Designed specifically for reducing the level of sound transmission. With its higher density core, noise transmission between rooms and also between floors in two storey homes can be reduced.
Can I paint straight onto plasterboard?
You can paint straight onto/over plasterboard in most cases, you simply need to cover the joints and any holes created by your fixings first. Being able to paint directly onto the surface of the new wall is convenient and saves time and money. You can also plaster over painted plasterboard at a later stage.
