What kind of insurance do you need for Turo?
You don’t need personal insurance coverage if you book a trip with a protection plan made available via Turo. If you do have insurance, our liability insurance provider* will supplement your personal coverage. Depending on the protection plan you select, liability coverage is up to $750,000 in the US.
What insurance does Avis use?
ALI is a separate insurance policy issued to Avis by ACE American Insurance Company. If you elect to accept ALI, you will pay an additional daily charge as shown on the Agreement. The purchase of ALI is not required in order to rent a car from Avis.

How does Turo protect car owners?
Basic. The Basic plan lets owners share some of the risk to pocket more earnings. It covers neither wear and tear nor loss of rental income, and it also has a shared deductible: Turo pays 20% of the first $3,750 of damage costs to your car, and 100% after that. Owners retain 85% of each trip price.
What percentage does Turo take from host?
Turo takes 15%-40% of each booking depending on the protection plan you choose. And if you decide to pass on their protection plans altogether and provide your own, it’s 8.5%. In comparison, Airbnb takes a 3% commission fee from hosts.
What happens if you scratch a Turo car?
If the damage is eligible for reimbursement to the host, Turo will: Charge you a damage deposit in line with the extent of damage and the protection plan you chose: $500 or $3,000 (US)
What damages does Turo cover?
Turo will reimburse hosts for eligible physical damage costs in excess of the deductible, subject to terms and exclusions, for the lesser of the cost of repair up to the actual cash value of the vehicle or $125,000.
