What is wrong with Gaynor Minden pointe shoes?
When GMs first came out, dancers (and fitters) would choose the same stiffness of shank they were used to in their old pointe shoes. Why do pointe shoes break so easily?
When dancing, your foot sweat causes pointe shoe materials to weaken, much like a cardboard box left in the rain. The longer, and more frequently you wear a particular pair, the faster it will break down. Alignment, choreography and foot strength also affect the natural wear of the shoe.
How do you keep pointe shoes from dying?
After dance class, you should carry your pointe shoes inside a mesh bag and hang it outside your dance bag to keep them dry.
