This could be due to switching to lower-pressure rounds, a bad batch of factory ammunition or a poor handload. Another common cause is the recoil spring. If you’re using a recoil spring with too much tension for the ammunition you’re using, the slide will cycle faster than the spent case is sent out the ejection port.
What type of extractor does a break action use?
Break open designs work best with rimmed cartridges, which can use a solid extractor. Rimless cartridges require a spring-loaded extractor, which can slide out of the way for cartridge insertion, and spring back to engage the recessed rim.

The extractor on the GLOCK pistol acts as a Loaded Chamber Indicator (LCI), visually and physically indicating whether there is a cartridge in the chamber of the pistol.
