What is RNA TapeStation?
An Automated Electrophoresis Solution that Delivers DNA and RNA Sample QC. The Agilent TapeStation system is an automated electrophoresis solution for the sample quality control of DNA and RNA samples. It is suitable to analyze size, quantity, and integrity of your samples.
How does the TapeStation work?
Figure 2 – The 2200 TapeStation instrument loads samples from tubes or a 96-well plate onto the ScreenTape, then electrophoreses, images, and analyzes the results in less than 2 min per sample. It then picks up the sample using the loading tip and places it on top of the gel matrix contained in the ScreenTape lane.
What is the difference between Bioanalyzer and TapeStation?
A: The Agilent 2200 TapeStation system can run anywhere from 1 to 95 samples. The Bioanalyzer is “chip- based” and can only fit 11 or 12 samples per run. Therefore, the service fee for Bioanalyzer run is charged on a per chip basis. Both Bioanalyzer and TapeStation can run cDNA or NextGen library samples.
What is a Bioanalyzer?
The Bioanalyzer is a chip-based capillary electrophoresis machine to analyse RNA, DNA, and protein. It is produced by Agilent and widely used, among other things, in RNA quality control measurements before downstream experiments like microarrays.
How much does a Bioanalyzer cost?
We have an excellentconditonAgilent 2100 G2938Ccomplete bioanalyzer system from Agilent Technologiesavailable for sale. This model sells new from Agilent for $30,000.
How does TapeStation measure concentration?
For D1000 ScreenTape and High Sensitivity D1000 ScreenTape, the concentration values are calculated using the area of the sample peak compared to the known concentration of the top marker. It is, therefore, essential that all peaks are integrated correctly in the 2200 TapeStation Analysis Software.
What is DV200?
*The “DV200” is the percentage of RNA fragments > 200 nucleotides. Although RIN values for these samples lie within a relatively narrow range (2.3–3.2), the size distribution of the RNA varies greatly among the samples.
What is RNA Bioanalyzer?
The Bioanalyzer RNA 6000 Nano assay provides reliable and reproducible characterization of total RNA and mRNA from multiple sample types, from as low as 5ng of total RNA. The software will provide an objective measurement of RNA quality with RIN (RNA Integrity Number).
How does RNA Bioanalyzer work?
How does the Bioanalyzer work? The bioanalyzer instrument detects biomolecules by laser-induced fluorescence. Each LabChip® contains an interconnected set of microchannels that is used for separation of nucleic acid fragments based on their size as they are driven through it electrophoretically.

How is DNA integrity measured?
The integrity of the gDNA is assessed by loading approximately 100 ng per sample on a 0.75% agarose gel and comparing size distribution to a suitable marker, such as lambda DNA, either as full length DNA (NEB #N3011) or digested with HindIII (NEB #N3012).
