What is Maxi prep?
The PureYield™ Plasmid Maxiprep System purifies up to 1mg of transfection-quality plasmid DNA from 250ml bacterial cultures in under an hour. The system is designed for use with a vacuum source and vacuum manifold, greatly reducing the time spent on purification compared to silica resin or other membrane-based methods.
How long does a Qiagen miniprep take?
The QIAprep Spin Miniprep Kit is designed for quick and convenient processing of 1–24 samples simultaneously in less than 30 minutes.
What is in buffer P1?
The composition of Buffer P1 is: 50 mM Tris·Cl, pH 8.0. 10 mM EDTA. 100 µg/ml RNase A.

How long does Midi Prep take?
The highlights of the new ZymoPURE™ MidiPrep and MaxiPrep kits are: Midi and Maxipreps in 18 minutes or less. Elutions are performed using a bench-top microcentrifuge (yes, that’s right – no large-scale centrifuge needed).
How do you purify plasmids?
During plasmid purification, bacterial cells are lysed, freeing DNA and other cellular components from the cell wall. Cellular components are then removed, and the DNA-containing lysate is processed to further remove contaminants separate the plasmid DNA from the genomic DNA.
How much DNA is in a maxi-prep?
Plasmid MaxiPrep Kit Benefits High recovery Up to 1 mg of plasmid DNA can be purified from 100 mL of bacterial culture.
How long do maxi preps take?
Step 3: Maxi-prep using Hispeed plasmid maxi kit. (Duration 2.5~3 hours. Procedure can also be found in the kit booklet.) 1. Turn on the centrifuge and put in the big rotor to cool it down.
What is PE buffer?
Buffer PE is a wash buffer for use in DNA cleanup procedures. It is supplied as a 5x concentrate of 100 ml, providing a final volume of 500 ml of buffer.
What is the qiaprecipitator module?
The unique QIAprecipitator module replaces the centrifugation step traditionally used to collect isopropanol-precipitated DNA following purification. The QIAprecipitator module traps the precipitated DNA while the isopropanol-buffer mixture flows through.
What is the elution volume for the qiaprecipitator MIDI and Hispeed plasmid kits?
The lowest elution volume that should be used for both the QIAprecipitator Midi and the Maxi Module provided in the HiSpeed Plasmid Kits is 500 ul. The official elution volume for both modules is 1 ml.
What is the difference between Hispeed MIDI and Hispeed Maxi kits?
HiSpeed Maxi Kits will result in higher DNA concentration than HiSpeed Midi Kits, because the QIAprecipitators in both kits (Midi- and Maxi Module) use the same elution volume. How can I improve the performance of the HiSpeed QIAprecipitator module?
What is the elution volume of the qiaprecipitator membrane?
The official elution volume for both modules is 1 ml. If a higher DNA concentration is desired and a reduction in yield of up to 10% is acceptable, the elution volume can be reduced. Elution volumes smaller than 500 ul will lead to incomplete wetting of the QIAprecipitator membrane and further reduced DNA yields.
