What is Malkier?
Malkier (pronounced: mahl-KEER) is part of the Borderlands, lying north of Shienar. The sign of Malkier is a golden crane. The nation was swallowed by the Blight in 955 NE, causing Shienar to become the northernmost of the Borderlands. After the Last Battle, the Blight vanished, and the nation was restored.
When did Malkier fall?

The Fall of Malkier was a conflict in 955 NE in which Malkier, having endured against the Shadow for almost a thousand years, was overrun by a Shadowspawn army and subsequently absorbed by the Blight. Malkier had been weakened after Breyan Mandragoran had plotted a coup against al’Akir Mandragoran.
Where is Malkier?
Malkier is a fallen nation of the Westlands, and is considered part of the Borderlands. It was lost to the Great Blight.
Will LAN Mandragoran ride alone?
The Golden Crane flew for Tarmon Gai’don, and Lan did not ride alone.

Does Nynaeve like LAN?

At times, she can be quite solid in herself, but I believe what draws Nynaeve to Lan is how similar they are in their drives and purpose.
