What is eletriptan HBR?
Eletriptan is used to treat migraines. It helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms (including nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound). Prompt treatment helps you return to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications.
Does eletriptan make you sleep?
Eletriptan can make you feel sleepy. If this happens, do not drive and do not use tools or machines.
How long does it take eletriptan to work?
Part of the reason that Relpax hasn’t yet been studied in treating cluster headaches is due to how long the drug takes to work. Cluster headaches usually last only 30 to 45 minutes but can last for a few hours. Relpax may take up to 2 hours to have its full effect, and by that time, your cluster headache may be gone.

Is eletriptan addictive?
The short answer is no. Sumatriptan (brand name Imitrex) is a triptan, one of a group of drugs that includes almotriptan, zolmitriptan, frovatriptan, rizatriptan, naratriptan, eletriptan, and of course, sumatriptan (Smith, 2020).
Does Relpax make you drowsy?
A migraine itself, or treatment with Relpax, may make you drowsy or dizzy. Avoid driving, using machinery (or doing anything that may be dangerous) if you become drowsy during a migraine or after taking Relpax. Be careful drinking alcohol if you suffer from migraine headaches.
Is eletriptan the same as sumatriptan?
Eletriptan 40 mg was superior to both sumatriptan doses in functional improvement (p < 0.005). The superior efficacy of both eletriptan doses was associated with higher rates of patient acceptability than sumatriptan 50 mg (p < 0.05). Eletriptan and sumatriptan were well tolerated.
How many times a month can you take eletriptan?
You should not take eletriptan or any other headache medication for more than 10 days per month. Call your doctor if you need to take eletriptan to treat more than three headaches in a 1-month period.
