What eats Menpachi?
The menpachi is a schooling fish, and during the day it hides in caves. It feeds at night, and likes to eat small crabs and shrimp, so shrimp is a good bait to use. Some menpachi can grow to be about 14 inches long.

When can you catch Menpachi?
Menpachi are commonly caught with hook and line right at sunset, just as these nocturnal fish are coming out of the rocks. Squid, shrimp, or glowing grubs are the best way to catch them. They can also be three-pronged during the day, for those adventurous enough to check inside ledges and small caves in the rocks.
Can you eat Ulua?
Ulua filets are best served skinless, and while this fish does have bones, they are very easy to remove. The flavor is sweet and delicate, but the flesh is firm, which means that it can stand up to being used in stir-fries, pastas and soups, though the best way to cook and eat ulua is to pan fry it.
