How long is NAMI Basics class?
2 ½ hours
The class is offered in person or online. Six classes, each lasting for 2 ½ hours, may be offered weekly for six consecutive weeks, or may be offered twice per week for three weeks to accommodate the hectic schedules of parents.
Does NAMI cost money?
$40 per year for a Regular membership which is an individual membership for one person. $5 per year for an Open Door membership for an individual member with limited financial resources.
Is NAMI a free organization?
The NAMI HelpLine is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.

Structure. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by a board of directors who are elected by membership.
