What age should calves be dehorned?
Disbudding procedures must be carried out in compliance with the Protection of Animals (Amendment) Act (1965). Currently the legislation concerning dehorning of cattle requires that once calves are over two weeks of age disbudding may only be performed using with local anaesthesia.
