Is there cannibalism in The Terror?
Rumours that the desperate and dying crew resorted to cannibalism have circulated around the doomed expedition since the 19th century, and was (spoiler alert) dramatised in the final episodes of The Terror.
What happened to Francis Crozier?
All 129 men vanished on the ice. Crozier took command when the ships were crushed and the expedition was on the brink of disaster. For several years Crozier led a courageous battle trying to lead his men to safety. According to legend, Crozier was the last to die – the last man standing.
Did Francis Crozier survive?

The Tuunbaq is a monstrous spirit bear creature which appears in the novel and AMC TV series The Terror. It is a creation by Dan Simmons, author of the novel, and is possibly based on the Inuit mythology of the Tupilaq, a vengeful spirit that takes the form of both man and animal.
What happened to Goodsir?
His body was never found, but forensic studies in 2009 on skeletal remains earlier recovered from King William Island in Canada suggest that they may be those of Harry Goodsir….

Was Captain Francis Crozier an alcoholic?
This demeanor makes it difficult for Crozier to make friends and as such he is widely disliked throughout the officers of the Royal Navy, with barely any friends in the officer corps. His life experiences have also caused him to turn to drink, with many in the navy aware of his alcoholism.
Where is Captain Crozier now?
He was assigned command of the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt on November 1, 2019. After being relieved of duty, Crozier was reassigned to a shore position in San Diego.
