How do you administer Milteforan?
Milteforan is administered with food to ameliorate gastrointestinal side effects. Instruct the patient to swallow the capsule whole and not to chew it or break it apart. Instruct the patient to complete the full course of therapy.
What is Milteforan for?
In 2007, Virbac Laboratories launched miltefosine on the European veterinary market as Milteforan for the purpose of treating dogs with CVL. According to Gradoni et al. [26], treatment of asymptomatic and oligosymptomatic dogs results in high rates of recovery and avoidance of the development of clinical disease.
How do you use Leisguard?
0.5 mg / kg / day, equivalent to 1 ml / 10 kg of the veterinary medicinal product, once daily, for 4 consecutive weeks. The veterinary medicinal product can be administered directly into the animal’s mouth or mixed with food. To ensure correct dosage, body weight must be determined as accurately as possible.

To reduce the risk of developing an active infection and clinical disease in case of contact with Leishmania infantum, through the enhancement of the cell-mediated immune response. The efficacy of the product has been demonstrated in dogs under multiple natural parasite exposure in zones with high infection pressure.
