How do I report a fault on a landline?
Opt to call the customer service line on your phone bill using an online calling service or another person’s phone in order to report directly that your phone line is fault. Request a service order so that they will be sure to respond to your service call promptly. Check your phone after the service call.
How do I check my phone line for faults?
Listen for a dial tone on your phone’s receiver. See if there’s a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone, the problem with your phone line is on the inside of your house. If this is the case, you’ll likely need to get the phone line inside your home repaired.
Can I report a fault on someone elses line?
Yes you can but we recommend the person reporting the fault to be at the premises where the faulty line is allocated. If it is not possible to be on the premises please make sure when you report a fault on someone else’s line that you have that person’s phone number to hand.

You just dial test line number, 0800 800628*, choose the Helpdesk option (Option 3) and then choose the Classic and GSM option (Option 1) and then choose Line Test Option (Option 1) Follow the interactive menu using your keypad to enter the responses.

If possible, have the person whose fault you want to report with you and call 0800.800. 150. When you eventually get through to a human explain that you are calling on behalf of a person and that you are acting on their behalf and he/she will give BT permission to allow you to act for him/her.

Can I change the account holder on BT?
