How do I join the Melbourne City library?
Photo identification and proof of address are required for full membership. If you have no proof of address you can still join, and if you can’t visit one of our six libraries we have online-only memberships. People under 18 years of age require a parent or guardian to take responsibility for their account.

If you do not have a safe space to study at home, you can study spaces at the Baillieu Library on the Parkville campus. The Baillieu Library is now open for limited services, including study spaces. Bookings are not needed to visit the Library. All visitors must check in using the Service Victoria app upon arrival. Masks are mandatory for all visitors aged eight and over, but there are no density limits. Hand hygiene facilities available at the entrance/exit to the Library and in key locations.
