Do Kawai pianos depreciate?
Generally speaking, upright pianos depreciate very quickly. Really old uprights are worth close to nothing, however, it’s possible to get a few hundred dollars from them. Quality uprights by Yamaha, Steinway, and Kawai generally sell for more. The age of the piano matters the most when it comes to depreciation.

When did Kawai start making 52 inch pianos?
It just seems like they made quite a few 52″ pianos around the same time (1985 or so). I know the US-63H was more like 1988. Piano accessories and music gift items, digital piano dolly, music theme party goods, and more! Although I am not an expert, I’ve been shopping for Kawai 52″ pianos that have sostenuto pedal.
Why do Kawai model numbers differ from one model to another?
IMHO, the differences in Kawai model numbers correlate to manufacturing dates (anniversary editions, etc) more often than specific features; as one model gets discontinued, a new model number will be used for a very similar piano. There will be different features that are incorporated into these models as time goes by.
What is the difference between the K-8 and the US Series pianos?
Most sellers of these pianos will claim that these US series pianos are “predecessors of the K-8”. While they all look like the K-8 (manufactured since 4/06), the functional difference is that most of these US series pianos do NOT have sostenuto.
