Can you walk across the Gannel?
Access is via the privately owned steps which are open to the public. Between 9.30am and 6pm during the open season (end may – mid september) or from Crantock Beach across the River Gannel. 3hrs either side of low water) a foot bridge will allow you to walk across the river free of charge.
Is there a bridge over the river Gannel?
On foot, there are several different foot bridge crossings over the Gannel but in all cases they can be covered by the tide. The crossing by the Trenance boating lake and the crossing further down can be crossed about two hours either side of low tide.

How do you cross the Gannel?
Start from the National Trust car park at Crantock Beach, take the path on your right through the dunes before you get to the beach and walk to the ferry landing point. If the tide is right out and it is safe to walk across, walk across to the ferry landing point at Fern Pit, visible across the riverbed.
