A GTX 980 is still fine, especially at 1080p. I’ve had a GTX 1060 for over 4 years and it’s fine. The 980 is a little faster than a 1060, so I’d stick with it until prices come down to the MSRP. A GTX 980 is still a decent gpu in 2021 despite its age, and now is not the time to upgrade.
