Are SRAM Force and Red compatible?
Many parts are cross compatible between SRAM RED, Force, and Rival eTap AXS such as: 12-speed Flattop chains, 12-speed cassettes from 10-28T all the way up to 10-36T, 1x cranksets, 2x cranksets (be sure to use the correct wide spindle crankset with the wide version front derailleur), shifter controls, and power meters.
Are all front derailleurs interchangeable?
In addition, front derailleurs are made for either 7, 8, 9 or 10-speed chains, but they can often be used interchangeably. If you are using a different chain than your derailleur was made to work with, the degree of adjustment you can expect will be lower than with a matched set.
Are SRAM and Shimano front derailleurs compatible?
Yes, you can mix Shimano and SRAM front derailleurs and shifters. It’s the rear derailleur that is not cross compatible, with the exception that SRAM has made ‘Attack’ shifters that will work with the Shimano rear derailleurs.
Is SRAM Rival compatible with SRAM Force?
Rival eTap AXS is compatible with SRAM Red and Force 12-speed cassettes from 10-28T up to 10-36T. All 12 cogs on a Rival Rival XG-1250 cassette are steel with a nickel-chrome plating, and there are damper rings between the cogs to reduce vibration.
Can I use a SRAM chain on Shimano?
Shimano and SRAM 11-speed chains are cross-compatible. If you have a Shimano 11-speed drivetrain, a SRAM chain will work fine and vice versa, however manufacturer’s recommend pairing your components for optimal performance.
Can I use MTB front derailleur on road bike?
Works perfectly OK. What you want to avoid are combining a road front mech and MTB shifter, or MTB front mech and road shifter. For some reason the design MA for each are slightly different.
What is the difference between SRAM Red and force?
Arguably the most significant difference between SRAM Red and Force lies in the crankset construction. What will likely have budget orientated riders cheering, the SRAM Force crankset features replaceable chainrings as opposed to the one-piece chainring and spider design unveiled on SRAM Red.
