Can CPT code 29806 and 29827 be billed together?
When the surgeon performs both procedures, we recommend 29827 for coding of rotator cuff repair and 29806 for capsular reconstruction. These codes have been previously described and valued through the peer- reviewed RUC and CPT processes.
Can 29822 and 29826 be billed together?
CPT 29826 can only be billed along with one (or more) of the following CPT codes: 29806, 29807, 29819, 29820, 29821, 29822, 29823, 29824, 29825, 29827 and 29828.
Can 29822 be billed with 29824?
CPT code 29822 can be billed as the primary procedure when performed with add-on CPT code 29826. **On appeal, extensive arthroscopic debridement (29823) will be allowed with CPT code 29824, 29827, or 29828, if the documentation supports the debridement was extensive and performed in a different area of the shoulder.
What is the difference between CPT 29806 and 29807?
If the repair is a SLAP, you’d code work done on the upper half of the labrum as 29807 (Arthroscopy, shoulder, surgical; repair of SLAP lesion). If the repair was in the lower half of the labrum, you’d use instead code 29806 (Arthroscopy, shoulder, surgical; capsulorraphy).
Can 29827 and 29825 be billed together?
Parenthetical instruction in CPT also states that code 29826 is to be used in conjunction with codes 29806-29825, 29827, and 29828. There are no existing National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits in place for these code pairs which would preclude one from reporting these codes together.
Can you bill biceps tenodesis with shoulder arthroplasty?
Shoulder Arthroplasty is also routinely performed with stabilization of the Biceps tendon, known as a Biceps Tenodesis- this may be billed as a separate and additional CPT code 23430.
Can CPT codes 29822 and 29824 be billed together?
For example, while CPT 29822 normally bundles into CPT code 29824 (Arthroscopic, shoulder, surgical, distal claviculectomy), both may be reported if the limited debridement is performed on other areas of the shoulder unrelated to the area/work performed to complete the arthroscopic, distal claviculectomy.
Can 23412 and 29826 be billed together?
