Are Rasta zoas Hardy?
Rasta Zoanthids are a zoa collectors classic find! Very hardy, Rastas have a vibrant blue mouth encircled by an orange ring, neon green borders the neon yellow lashes. Very hardy, excellent growth rate. With their tolerance for a wide range in both water flow and lighting it’s great for the reef tank beginner.
Do Rasta zoas grow fast?
They have been medium to slow growers for me.
Where do rasta ZOAS go?
Aegean Zoanthids Zoanthids and Palythoa will grow and reproduce by budding. Placement: Mount the Aegean Zoanthids using IC gel glue, or putty, on an exposed rock lower in the aquarium where they will receive direct flow and light.
How long do zoas take to multiply?
I find the different variables to be genus of the zoa, lighting, flow, water quality, and size of frag. I never buy single polyp frags so I can’t tell you from experience but usually for me, it takes a few weeks for my frags to settle in and start budding. Just a general answer, I would say 3 weeks for zoas.
Are Pandora zoas toxic?
Some can contain a compound called palytoxin that is a very dangerous poison. Palytoxin is associated more with Palythoa than Zoanthus, but it is possible for zoas to have it. In 1961 researchers tracked down the fabled pool in Maui and found colonies of Palythoa toxica.
