The parking lot closest to Woods Hole is on Palmer Ave in Falmouth, about 3 miles up the road. The Steamship Authority runs a free shuttle from this lot to Woods Hole. The trip takes about 10 minutes. Parking in the lot costs $10 – $15 per calendar day, depending on the season.
Where do you park for the Island Queen ferry?
Parking is conveniently located within walking distance of the ferry terminal for both day & overnight parking. Parking is available on a first-to-arrive basis and is not reserved with your ferry booking. Passengers are welcome to drop off their luggage at the dock, prior to parking.
Can you stay in your car on the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard?
The Steamship Authority in Woods Hole Massachusetts is the only ferry bringing cars to Martha’s Vineyard. Also, you must have a reservation for your car during the high season. There are times when standby is allowed, though getting the next ferry is not guaranteed.

Fabulous Falmouth is well worth visiting, but not known for its ease of parking. It has 3 short-stay car parks, but they are expensive. Run by Cornwall Council, they are at Grove Place (168 spaces), the Moor (34 spaces) and Well Lane (37 spaces). There is a free car park (64 spaces) at Pendennis Point.
