Are Irish Draught horses good for beginners?
Irish Sport Horses are typically good beginner horses. A traditional Irish Sport Horse is an offspring from a Thoroughbred and Irish Draught Horse cross. But be aware that sometimes Thoroughbreds produce high spirited horses. Warmbloods typically have the characteristics you want in a horse for the beginner rider.

About Bowland Stud Irish Draught horses have long been a part of life at Closes Hall farm, for over 20 years there have been Irish draughts on the farm alongside our dairy cattle and sheep. Starting out with one foundation mare ‘Nellie’s Version’ whom we sadly lost a few years ago, we slowly built up our stud.
