The commission has three chief inspectors who are also board members: Professor Ted Baker: chief inspector of hospitals (retiring March 2022) Kate Terroni: chief inspector of adult social care. Rosie Benneyworth: chief inspector of primary medical services and integrated care.
How often do CQC inspect GP practices?
We will ask you for information once a year, rather than before an inspection. We will ask about any changes at the practice since your last inspection or annual regulatory review. We gather this information by phone call. Your inspector will contact you four weeks beforehand to arrange a time.

Ian Trenholm has been our Chief Executive since August 2018. Prior roles included Chief Executive of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Strategic Director for Resources at Buckinghamshire County Council. Ian began his career as an Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Service.
Who is Kate terroni?
Kate Terroni is our Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care. Kate, a registered social worker, was previously Director of Adult Social Care at Oxfordshire County Council where she embedded co-production in adult social care throughout the county and provided clear leadership across the health and care system.
How do I prepare for CQC inspection?
ensure senior staff are working on the day of the inspection. prepare a welcome pack for the inspectors, including the staff rota for the day and lead names on particular areas, eg infection control, cleanliness and safeguarding. display the CQC registration in a public space in the practice and on your website.
