What is a peat 1?
PEAT 1 is commonly known to students, universities and the profession as the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. This vocational stage is the stage of legal education where knowledge, skills, attitudes and values are learned in a simulated environment.
How long does the Diploma in legal practice last?
Courses generally start in September. The length of courses can differ depending on where you study. Full-time courses usually take one year to complete, while part-time courses take up to two years.
Can you practice law in Scotland with an English degree?
An English or Welsh LLB doesn’t count in Scotland, and nor does the Legal Practice Course. In addition, there’s no equivalent to England’s Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) conversion course, which means it’s much harder to qualify as a lawyer if you haven’t done a law degree.

No, You can not. You need to complete graduation first. Minimum eligibility criterion is 45-50%(Varies from university to university)in graduation (any stream) . Admission to the same is based on entrance exams like CLAT, LSAT, AILET etc.

Generally, law firms will not only pay your LPC costs, but also provide you with a maintenance grant or loan to help you with your living costs while you study.

A peat depth and peatland condition survey is needed before restoration work starts. In most cases survey data must be submitted along with your Peatland ACTION funding application. What are the peat 1 outcomes?
The PEAT 1 Outcomes that a student requires to achieve over the course of the Diploma are listed below, alongside the guidance. Students undertaking PEAT 1 will have more choice and flexibility in their course and up to 50% of the course can be made up of electives.
What is the peatland action project?
The Peatland ACTION Project Team will arrange for surveys to be undertaken at no cost to you. Peat depth and peatland condition survey guidance and recording forms. A Feasibility Study is developed to identify, assess, and map areas of potential peatland restoration and use the results to produce in-depth peatland restoration and management plans.
When can I apply for the peatland Action Fund?
The Peatland ACTION Fund is open for applications. We encourage applications for delivery in this financial year i.e. before 31 March 2022, to be submitted by 30 September. The fund will remain open for applications for delivery in future years after this date.
