How long is the star course SFAS?
Everyone’s probably heard of the infamous ‘STAR’ course. Five land navigation points spread out in roughly the shape of a star, covering between 2 and 13km’s per point totaling anywhere from a lot to a LOT of miles before you’re all done.
How many people get selected at SFAS?
Each year approximately 3,500 candidates (mainly US Army Soldiers) are given the opportunity to attend US Army Special Forces training. Although numbers vary, approximately 860 will graduate each year and join the approximately 15,000 active duty and reserve US Army Green Berets.
How long does it take between SFAS and Q Course?
After four weeks, soldiers will find out whether they are selected to attend the full Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), also known as the Q Course. This phase 1B is known formerly as SFAS — Special Forces Assessment and Selection. There is a short two-week course after advancing to Phase 2.

How tough is SFAS?
SFAS was both easier and harder than I’d expected. Not easy at all-for the uninitiated- simply easier than expected. Physically, I was completely prepared. I’d met other guys that were selected and they shared the prep work that worked for them, which is a little different for everyone.

Having a Ranger Tab and the Special Forces Tab, I get asked all the time which school was harder. The answer is complicated. Both schools are physically and mentally challenging, but in different ways. I generally say that Ranger school sucks more but the Q course is harder.
What is the age limit for Delta Force?
21 years old
In order to apply for Delta selection, an individual, at a minimum, must enter the Army, have the rank of E-4 through E-8 or O-3 through O-4, and be 21 years old.
Is there swimming in SFAS?
Swimming is a passable event in the course. You have to be able to swim 50 meters in a pool with boots and a uniform. If you are a weak swimmer, get to the pool and do some laps. This was one event that got a few people, because they did not incorporate it into their workout plan.
