Is Gloucester tip open during lockdown?
The Household Recycling Centres are open 10am to 4pm and each site is closed one day per week (Fosse Cross and Oak Quarry closed Tuesdays, Pyke Quarry and Wingmoor Farm closed Wednesdays, and Hempsted closed Thursdays). Please note: Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, or anyone in a self-isolating household MUST NOT visit.
Are Gloucestershire tips open?
The site is open six days a week (Winter:10am-4pm, Summer:9am-5pm) and will be closed every Thursday.
Do you still have to book Gloucester tip?
Everyone visiting the Household Recycling centres are required to prebook their visit in order to gain access to these sites. Social distancing will be required on site, and in order to minimise queues and waiting times the number of booking slots available will be limited.
Is the South Glos tip open?

Can I take a mattress to the tip Gloucester?
What can you take there? You can bring other household waste to the centres (e.g. mattresses, sofas, garden furniture etc) but they are unable to recycle it at present.
How many times can you go to the tip South Glos?
Limited to 12 visits per year.
What happens to the disposed material at the recycling Centre?
At the MRF, all the mixed recycling is sorted and separated into different types of materials by hand or machine (or both) before being sent to manufacturers who make it into new products. Once collected and sorted, recycled materials become valuable commodities in the worldwide market.
Can you take a mattress to the local recycling Centre?
Mattresses are not accepted or recycled at some local recycling centres or tips. It is often the case that a separate (and sometimes charged for) bulky waste collection service is offered by the council or private waste contractors, like Skoup.
Do garages dispose of petrol?
Old petrol or petrol diesel mixture Take it to a local garage – call first, and for a small charge they will let you dispose of it in a container they use to store similar mixtures from cars. Don’t take it to an oil bank – these are only for used engine oil.
What happens to the disposed material at the recycling Centre *?
Answer: it is dumped into the ground.
